Instituto Galego da Calidade Alimentaria - INGACAL.

Lugar Quian, s/n 15881 A Coruña

The Instituto Galego da Calidade Alimentaria (Ingacal) is an institute that depends on the Consellería do Medio Rural e do Mar of the Xunta de Galicia. Its functions consist in applied research, rural development and technological transfer within the agro-food and forestry fields, as well as promoting and protecting the different quality of Galician food products.

Ingacal integrates several regional research centres, including two experimentation centers in viticulture and enology (Research units of Viticulture and Enology at Leiro and at Ribadumia) whose work lines are focused on applied research in viticulture and enology, as well as on the transfer of knowledge to the vitivinicultural sector. They are in charge of teaching and knowledge transfer by organizing thematic courses and workshops addressed to winegrowers and support services.
